Baylor Jazz In Greece - Day 2

Today..we got to sleep in!!! It was much needed!

We left the hotel at 10:30 and went to the church to rehearse.

 The Hotel Tony

Then, we walked in the PLAKA district right next to the Acropolis to a restaurant that our church hosts said was one of the most authentic in the area.  Along the way, our tour guide, Eli (aka our really smart and well read math major pianist) told us about all of the sites.

We had an amazing meal!!  These pics are from our lunch:

Plate for 2 - 5 kinds of meat!

Gyro
 Hungry!

Yes, that is a tower of meat!

Then we headed back to the church for a little more rehearsal,
It's a tough life here with not much to see....

and then it was time to load the bus to head to the Mediterranean Sea!  We had a blast in the water, even if the rocky shore hurt a bit and made getting in and out of the waves very difficult!

Then we went to the Church Camp for Teens where our performance was tonight.  We prayed with them (I'm sure that it was an amazing prayer, but it was in Greek, so we waited until everyone looked up and we said, "Amen!")  We had some great Greek Pizza and then it was time for the concert!  They have a cool little amphitheater and we ended up playing for an hour and a half for them!  They asked great questions and we sang and played "Amazing Grace" and "Lord, I Lift Your Name On High" with them, and it was a lot of fun!

And we made a ton of new friends in Greece!! (Many of whom had not heard Jazz before)

And Happy Birthday to Austin Crumrine (24) and Ryan Parker (16) TODAY!!

All in all, a great day!  Sic'em Jazz!!

Good night!  Day 3 will be here soon...

Thanks for reading!
